The 2019 Summer Bazaar turned out to be a great day with perfect sunny weather. Lots of people came by to check out the hidden treasures and have lunch. The event raised $1442.80 for Lake Luzerne UMC ministries.
Donated items and the bake sale raised $642.80. The annual appearance of the Moby Dick’s Fish Fry truck was a big hit as always, and Dan’s donations from lunch sales came to another $800.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this year’s event. Special thanks to Linda, the event coordinator, and to Donna, who handled publicity on Facebook and did a lot behind the scenes.
Thanks also the the many who donated items and baked goods, and who came out to volunteer for the day.
Finally, but not least, big thanks to the extended Fish family who made the Fish truck appearance possible again as the cornerstone attraction for the event and who worked so joyfully on our behalf!
Funds from the bazaar are critical to the many other missions and ministries we do at First UMC, but the benefits are not just financial. Working together brings us together as a community. Being out in the community raises awareness of who we are and what we do for others. And the chance to be together for a day of friendship, conversations over lunch, and games of Crazy 8s with the kids on the parsonage porch, all tie us closer together into the beloved community.
Again, thanks to all who participated, donated, or in any other way supported the event this year. See you at the Summer Bazaar 2020!
